Retreat Schedule

Day 1

 

Note: The schedule is subject to change closer to the date of the retreat. When the group gathers, participants will have the option of practicing silence or connection. There will be signs up for areas in the room to practice silence and areas to practice connection.   


Thursday 11/14/24

  • 4:00PM: Arrive to Whisper Tree Retreat Center. Meet at Toll House (near the entrance of the center) to check-in. The retreat staff will go over information they would like us to know about during our stay at the Whisper Tree Retreat Center. 
  • 5:30pm - 6:30pm: Evening Feast
  • 6:30pm-8pm: Introductory workshop #1- Beginning Circle and Introduction To Slow Stitch. In this workshop we will have introductions to get acquainted with one another. We will also be engaging in basic slow, mindful stitch together and get oriented to the tools and materials. This workshop in particular will have a meditative quality to it. I will provide a bit of psychoeducation about the benefits of mindful handwork like slow stitch and then participants will be given time to engage in meditative slow stitch for a little while.
  • 8pm-8:30pm: Opening up to the Retreat through Movement (light stretching)
  • 8:30pm: Personal time. Opetional activities: gather around campfire with s'mores and warm beverages, listen to music, craft time


Days 2 and 3

Friday 11/15/24

  • 8am: Welcome the Day Yoga 
  • 8:30am: Self-serve breakfast
  • 9:30am-11:30am: Morning circle and slow stitch. This workshop will begin with "morning circle" which is when we gather together and get grounded. We will lean into intentions for the day.  Then participants will have time to contemplate and meditate on their intentions while engaging in slow stitching. 
  • 12pm Lunch
  • 1:30pm-3:30pm: Regulating stress with mindful handwork and mindful walking.

In this workshop, I will provide a bit of psychoeducation about micropauses as ways to practice mindfulness and regulate our nervous system. Then I will lead the group through an experiential exercise to help get in touch with parts of their daily lives that may require a bit more care through the practice of micropauses. Then participants will have an opportunity to externalize any intentions they set around practicing micropauses. The workshop will involve a nature walk to enhance participants' mindfulness practices. 

  • 3:30-6:30pm: Printing Tutorial, Personal Time, massage appointments, 1:1 coaching.
  • 6:30pm: Evening Feast 
  • 8pm: Nightcap yoga
  • 8:30pm-10pm: personal time, massage appointments, 1:1 coaching

Saturday 11/16/24

8am: Welcome the Day Yoga 

  • 8:30am: Self-serve breakfast
  • 9:30am-11:30am: Morning circle and slow stitch. This workshop will begin with "morning circle" which is when we gather together and get grounded. We will lean into intentions for the day.  Then participants will have time to contemplate and meditate on their intentions while engaging in slow stitching. 
  • 12pm Lunch
  • 1:30-3:30pm: Workshop on processing emotions by using mindful handwork. 
  • 3:30-6:30pm: Printing Tutorial, Personal Time, massage appointments, 1:1 coaching.
  • 6:30pm: Evening Feast
  • 8pm: Evening activity involving  movement, dance play, connection

Day 4

  Sunday 11/17/24

  • 8am: Welcome the Day Yoga 
  • 8:30am: Self-serve breakfast and pack up
  • 10am-11:30am: Morning circle and slow stitch. We will gather to solidify intentions that were set during the retreat and explore ways to continue the practices we found beneficial. 
  • 12pm: to-go lunches and group photo
